Homemade Chocolate Pretzels With Chocolate Coating Recipe

A delicious recipe for homemade chocolate pretzels dipped in 3 delicious chocolate coatings.
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
6 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg white, lightly beaten (for glazing)
Chocolate Coatings (amounts given are for about 10 of each type of chocolate) * Triple the amount of chocolate needed, if you only want one type of coating.
4 ounces white chocolate
4 ounces milk chocolate
4 ounces dark chocolate
To make your own pretzels:
Preheat oven to 375F.
Sift together flour, salt and cocoa powder. Set aside.
Lightly grease two baking sheets.
Cream the butter until fluffy. Add sugar and continue to mix until creamy and fluffy.
Beat in the egg.
Add dry ingredients and stir to blend.
Gather the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.
Roll into 28 small balls, and roll each ball into a rope about 10 inches long.
With each rope, form a loop with the two ends facing you.
Twist the ends and fold back on to the circle, pressing into make a pretzel shape.
Place on baking sheets and brush with egg white.
Bake about 10-12 minutes until firm, then transfer to a wire rack.
Let cool completely before dipping in chocolate.
To make your chocolate dips:
Tips for melting the chocolate.
Use a double boiler to make sure you dont burn the chocolate.
If you dont have a double boiler, you can make one by filling a medium saucepan 3/4 full with water. Then rest a smaller saucepan or a heat-proof bowl inside of it and fill it with your chocolate chips.
Turn the stove on low heat. Stir occasionally.
Be sure to avoid getting any water or condensation into the chocolate or you will not be able to work with it.
When chocolate is melted, working quickly, use kitchen tongs to dip pretzel into chocolate. Cover completely with chocolate. Place dipped pretzels on prepared work surface and allow all to dry (less than an hour).
Repeat for each type of chocolate you are using.
